10 years and apples

Hello wonderful butterflies of this world 🦋,

Today we dive in to a personal poem that was created in March 2022. It is a reflection on the journey of life, and the personal growth that comes from embracing adversity.

The poem is accompanied by an overlay of two self-portraits from 2022. 

10 YEARS AND APPLES

10 years went, not much changed. Except everything inside. 10 years past, haven't even tasted diverse apples yet. Today, I can say I've tried enough. 

Curiosity. Had to try them all because that is who I am. Even got to taste a few that were poisoned. Almost killed me. Still here and alive. 

My favorite? Red delicious apples.

This writing evoke inner transformation, evolvement, while external circumstances remain the same, in a stretch of 10 years, a whole decade.

It is a metaphor for curiosity and exploration of self through life experiences. 

The apples in the poem, aren't just apples, they are decisions, places, people. The different flavors of life that one can bite in. 

Although this writing acknowledges that exploration through experiences is also taking risks. Some experiences in life are sweet, some bitter, some are shiny on the exterior but rotten inside. 

Those are the worst apples, the ones that almost killed, the lessons learned the hard way. Survived, still standing, still learning every day. 

Ultimately, finding comfort and satisfaction. 

The difference today, we know which apples we love, we know what type of apples nourishes us. 

It is funny to spend all that time exploring just to come back home.

Here's to another decade.

Here is our tip if you're in the middle of your apple tasting years, don't rush. Don't fear the bad apples.

Just know that the poisoned ones will make the sweet and juicy ones that much more delicious. Eventually, you'll find your favorite apple too.
